Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi awarded me a Doctorate of Jurisprudence in May, 1989. I was an Associate Justice on the Honor Council and a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity.

In May, 1986 I was granted a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science and International Agriculture. My areas of emphasis were livestock production/behavior and international laws.

Legal/Judicial Experience

I have served as lead Counsel in numerous bench and jury trials throughout New Mexico since 1989. I have served as a Certified Arbitrator and Mediator in both private and Court appointed cases since 1994. I am licensed to practice law in all Courts, State and Federal, in New Mexico and the 9th and 10th Circuit Courts of Appeals.

My areas of practice were primarily related to construction and agricultural law. I have also been recognized in both State and Federal District Courts as an expert in equine law and behavior, fencing laws, and valuations of horses and livestock in private and Court appointed cases.

Furthermore, I served as a Municipal Judge for the Village of Bosque Farms, New Mexico, for approximately nine years, having finished my latest term in March, 2016. I was also appointed as a Tribal Judge for the Pueblo of Isleta for 2015.

Agricultural Experience

My involvement in agriculture began in about 1968 and continues to the present. I have worked in many facets of the industry that have involved beef and dairy cattle production, sheep production and horse training. I competed at the college and amateur level in rough stock events and team roping. Prior to attending Law School, I was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture as a meat grader and completed graduate level courses at Mississippi State University.

I have testified as an expert witness and served as a consultant in numerous cases since 1997. These matters have involved a wide variety of topics related to fencing laws, animal behavior and the appraisal of horses and livestock. I am a Certified Appraiser (Advanced) by the American Society of Equine Appraisers (ASEA) and the American Society of Agricultural Appraisers (ASAA) and am a lifetime member of both.
